Learning Outcome 7.03
Operations and management in recreation.
As a recreation professional it is important to understand how the operations and strategies used in parks and throughout recreation affect all individuals. An ADA checklist describes what is important to have in a facility to make a facility as accessible to all as possible. With a group of classmates, I went to Chubb Hall, a building on the Ohio University campus and some of the flaws it had according to the checklist provided. Below you will see the as issues that we found within Chubb. Overall, this was a very eye-opening experience to see what all individuals with disabilities see every day.
This assignment was designed to allow us to see how much energy we use, based on a two week time period in our place of residency. After I found out how much energy my house used, I then used this new found information to determine some alternatives that wold be more energy efficient. My Audit was done at my house, located at the top of N. Lancaster St. The following link will provide a copy of my energy audit.
As a recreation professional, programming is one of the most important aspects of any job. This project did a proficient job at preparing me for the real world. It is a comprehensive program plan for a summer camp that I created with a team of three. This project includes aspects such as Budgeting, Equipment, Scheduling, and much more. In the following link there is a section of the proposal. If you have any interest in seeing the rest, I would be more than happy to show you. Please contact me with any questions.
